Coniston Wastewater Treatment Works

Welcome to Coniston Wastewater Treatment Works. This is where your used water (from flushed loos, emptied sinks, baths, showers and household appliances) ends up. It’s here where we clean this water before safely returning it to the environment.

So, how do we do it? We use biological, chemical, and physical processes to remove any contaminants from the wastewater.

Did you know that three sites at Coniston have recently been granted a bathing water status? We have proposed investment to enhance this wastewater treatment works as part of our next five-year spending period and we hope to have approval from our regulator for this project at the end of this year.
