Gap site incentive

Restrictions on application numbers from April 2024

Our Gap Site Incentive Scheme will close on 31 March 2025.

From 1 April 2024 we will be accepting a maximum of 30 new applications per month on a first come, first-served basis. We may consider applications in excess of these volumes with prior agreement but ask that you engage with us first before submitting applications to us.

We will be closing the scheme to new submissions on 31 December 2024. This will allow us time to ensure that all of the requirements of the scheme with regards the registration of the gap site, resolution of any challenges and processing of incentive payments to retailers can be satisfied prior to the scheme closing on 31 March 2025.

Our gap site incentive scheme is designed to incentivise business retailers who work in our area to identify eligible premises that are not registered in the Central Market Operating System (CMOS), to support fairness of charging for all customers.

We will pay a incentive payment when you identify a gap site that is subsequently registered to you with a status of “tradable” in CMOS.

The incentive scheme is run in accordance with the standard industry Gap Site Incentive Scheme Guidance. This guidance should be followed in conjunction with process C3 of WRC Schedule 1 part 3 Operational Terms.

You can check here for details of gap site incentive applications that have already been submitted. Any duplicate applications will not be processed.
