Cockermouth #waterfootprint challenge
Water efficiency challenge 2019/20
Cockermouth has been specially selected for the challenge of becoming the North West’s first Water Efficiency Champions. The challenge is to save 14 litres (that’s about 1 ½ washing up bowls!) of water each day.
The one thing we have a lot of in the Lake District is rain. But we don’t know exactly when the rain will fall or how much, so we all need to work together to get into the habit of saving it for when it’s needed. It’s good for the environment too, as the more water we all save, the less we'll use from reservoirs and rivers, which means it takes less energy to treat it too!
Help us to maintain the local Lakeland environment at Over Water and Chapple House Reservoir by reducing the amount of water we need to take from them.
