Stockport sewer improvements

We’ve started to make some important improvement work on our sewer network in your area. We wanted to let you know about our work which started spring/summer 2022 to help reduce the risk of sewer flooding along Station Road and the Woodley Station railway.

Our plans

We’re constructing a new underground storage tank within Woodley Primary School and are making connections to the existing chambers along Station Road. With a lot of our works, we are able to work with the landowners, local residents and local authority to construct new equipment. For this project applied for a planning application for some elements of our work including a new temporary access off Hyde Road. We have broken our project down into phases which can be found below.

Phase one

Finalise design for main construction works.

Phase two

Submit follow up planning application for future works including permanent access.

Phase three

Initial site set up and construction work commences within Woodley Primary School.

Phase four

Reinstate working areas on Woodley Primary School fields & temporary access off Hyde Road.
