Checking for leaks in your home

Your meter readings have indicated that there have been several occasions recently when you have been using a continuous amount of water in your home, this is unusual as water use normally goes up and down during the day and night, and which could indicate you have a leak.

Remember, you’re paying for all the water you use so finding and fixing the leak will reduce your bill.

Don’t worry, most leaks in the home are relatively easy to find. One of the main culprits are modern push button toilets as they overflow into the bowl if the cistern is faulty and can waste an incredible amount of water without you even knowing.

Other common causes of leaks in the home are dripping taps or showerheads, so if your toilet isn’t the issue please check these too.

Please visit the link below for more information on how to find and fix leaks inside your home or call us on 0345 026 7661.

The good news is that if you find and repair a leak within 8 weeks, you could be eligible for a credit on your bill for the cost of the water lost during the time you had the leak. You don’t need to call us to receive this allowance, it will be added to your bill automatically once you’ve repaired the leak. Please allow around 12 weeks from when your leak is repaired for the allowance to appear on your account as we need to take two meter readings to calculate the amount.
