Terms and conditions – free prize draw

  1. This free prize draw is part of a trial and is open to customers of United Utilities Water Limited (“UUW”) who have been selected to take part in this trial For these purposes, “customer” means the named account holder who has been selected to take part and whose permanent residence is a domestic dwelling which is supplied with water by UUW.
  2. Anyone in the trial group who receives an email and completes the survey with a photograph between 13 November 2024 and 6 December 2024 to show any of their water pipes that have been insulated with pipe lagging will be entered into the draw. Anyone who sends a photograph of water pipes showing they have insulated their water pipes with pipe lagging after this date will not be entered into the draw.

    The photograph must be of your property and show clear images of water pipes that have been insulated with pipe lagging:
    • If you provide a false photograph or photograph which isn’t your property before the date of the draw, you will be removed from the draw;
    • If we find out that you have provided a false photograph or photograph which isn’t your property after the draw has taken place and you have won a prize, we will cancel any credit you have received and you will need to pay any charges that the credit has already been used against.
    • If you have insulated your water pipes, but are unable to provide a photograph, please state the reason why in the survey, e.g. unable to access the area safely, and you will be entered into the draw.
  3. In these terms and conditions, “You” means any person who has been selected to enter into the prize draw. “Us”, “We” and “Our” refers to UUW.
  4. Employees, agencies or suppliers of UUW and of the group of companies of which UUW is part (UU Group) may not enter this prize draw. UUW’s decision in relation to a person’s eligibility to enter this competition shall be final.
  5. Once We have checked that You meet the qualifying criteria, We will enter You into a prize draw (unless You are not eligible to enter or You tell Us that You do not want to enter).
  6. You will not be entered into the prize draw if You are more than two months behind with payments due on Your water services account.
  7. By entering the prize draw, You are accepting these terms and conditions and agreeing to be bound by them. You are also accepting Our privacy policy, which explains how We use, store and process Your personal information.
  8. This prize draw is only open to individuals who are over the age of 18 in their personal capacity and is not open to businesses. Only the person who is the named account holder shall be entered into the prize draw, and it is not possible for any person to enter this prize draw on behalf of any other person.
  9. The prize is £225.83 which We will credit to Your water services account. If this means that Your account is in credit, We will use the money towards future charges and will not pay it to You. If You move home, We will transfer any credit to the account for Your new address.
  10. The prize is £225.83 each for five winners who will be chosen at random from all entrants who meet the criteria for entry by 13 December 2024.
  11. Our decision is final and binding on all entrants and We will not enter into any further correspondence about it.
  12. The winners will be chosen and notified. Unsuccessful entrants will not be notified. We will not publish details of individual winners but, if necessary, We will provide these details if You ask for them to show that winners have been chosen.
  13. We can suspend, cancel or amend this prize draw if, in Our reasonable opinion, We consider this necessary.
  14. We have the right to disqualify any customer, including a winner, who breaks any of these terms and conditions or commits fraud in any way.
  15. As far as is allowed by law, Our liability under this agreement will not be more than the value of the prize, as stated above.

Important notice

If you’re experiencing flooding from a road or footpath and there is no evidence of sewage (toilet paper etc.) please report this to your local council, who are responsible for highways drainage flooding.
